Standing defense

In this technique, the attacker uses an arm to choke the defender from behind.

MOVE QUICKLY.You have fifteen seconds or so before a chok-hold causes unconciousness.
Step 1: the defender turns their head towards the hand end of the choking forearm, where there is a naotural opening.
Step 2: the defender grabs the wrist of the choking forearm with their own corresponding hand.
Step 3: the defender steps out with the corresponding foot.
Step 4. the defender twists in the direction of the grasping hand, ducking their head down and through the gap that the twist creates. Holding on to the attacker's wrist, this bends the attacker's arm against the elbow, moving control to the defender.

Prone defense

In this technique, the attacker is sitting on the chest of a prone defender, choking them with two hands to the throat..

Step 1: the defender reaches up with one hand (unless the attack is in a cramped space, when the choice matters) and grasps the corresponfing attackers forearm, passing behind the other arm.
Step 2: the defender bends the leg corresponding to the arm used in step 1, placing their foor flat as close to their buttock as possible.
Step 3: pushing simultaneously with the hand and foot, the defneder rolls the attacker over onto their back
