Palm Block / shotei uke defense
In this technique, the defense is made with the same hand that the attacker is using for the grab.

The defender forms an open hand at the corresponding shoulder, then blocks across the body striking the grabbing hand as close to the defender's body as possible.
This block cause the attacker's fingers naturally to unpeel and release and drives the attacker's hand away from the defender.

Thumb Pivot defense
In this technique, the defense is made with both hands.

First, the defender grabs the attacker's thumb with their corresponding hand, and pries it away from the clothing.
Second, the defender makes a cup of their other hand and drops it over the attackers thumb, thumb and index finger down.
Third, the defender makes a flat 'table' of the initial hand, slides it under the attacker's hand, and uses this 'table' to rotate the attacker's hand against the joint and away from the clothing.

Palm & Elbow defense
In this technique, the defense is made with both hands and a foot.

First, using the corresponding hand as the attacker the defender reaches over the attacker's hand, places their palm on the back of the attacker's hand, and curls their fingers under the fleshy part of the edge of the hand.
Second, the defender rotates the attacker's hand, forcing the elbow upwards, and places the other hand on the back of the elbow.
Third, the defender steps forward with leg that corresponds to the hand on the elbow, pushing on the elbow at the same time, and forces the attacker to the floor.
