The 'Diver' defense

In this technique, the defense is made with both arms.

First, the defender pushes one arm (pick either) down between the grabbing arms, as far down as they can go. This is very important as the defense will fail if the technique is too short.
Second., the defender marries their other arm to the first, palm to palm.
Third, the defender swings both arms up and over in a wide circle, breaking the attacker's grip.
Finally, the defender has the choice to strike the attacker with the two palms, in a double shuto.

Before the strike, however, remember George's warning about changing role from defender to attacker.

Cross Hand defense

In this technique, the defense is made with both arms, a foot, and a hip.

First, the defender pushes one arm (pick either) up between the grabbing arms and grabs the attacker's corresponding wrist.
Second., the defender reaches over the attacker's hands with their free hand and grabs the attacker's corresponding wrist
Third, the defender pulls both of the attacker's hands close together.
Fourth, the defender raises and rotates the elbow of the first hand while stepping forward with the corresponding foot, breaking the grip and pulling the attacker down adn over the hip.
Finally, the defender spins forward around the hip, pulling the attacker to the floor.

At this point the defender can become the attacker by keeping hold of the attacker's wrists, and then kicking the attacker to the head or the body.
